Dr. Flemming has been interested in medicine from an early age. Now with more than 30 years of practice and experience under his belt, he’s become one of the foremost urologists on the Central Coast.
A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, he got his medical degree from the University of New Mexico — one of the pioneering institutions in the United States for its problem-based, patient-centered curriculum.
In his third year in medical school, Dr. Flemming opted for urology because of the variety of treatment technologies available to him and the fact that most of his patients — men, women, and children — almost always got better.
His extensive medical and surgical training has always been based on what is best for the patient, and importantly, what is cost-effective.
While he practices all facets of urological surgery, he specializes in stone surgery, incontinence, prostate therapy (both benign and malignant), and other cancers. He also has specialized training in complicated pediatric surgery, advanced pelvic surgery and state-of-the-art surgery for erectile dysfunction.
Dr. Flemming has access to a variety of state-of-the-art equipment, including the most modern IMRT facility, and has a close relationship with the Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto. In addition to his own practice, he has an active urologic surgical practice at Monterey Peninsula Surgery Centers and Minimus Institute.
He is a past chief of the Division of Urology and the former Chief of Surgery at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology, National Board of Medical Examiners, American Urologic Association, California Urologic Association, and the American Association of Clinical Urologists.
